Texas Military Forces State Family Programs Set to Open New Remote Family Assistance Center
Austin, Texas (July 1, 2014) – Texas Military Forces, State Family Programs is happy to announce the
opening of the newest Family Assistance Center at the Camp Bowie Armory in Brownwood, June 30, 2014.
These centers are used to provide guidance, resources, support and training to service members and their families in order to empower them to face the challenges of service in the National Guard in state and national emergencies and through all phases of a deployment cycle.
The Family Assistance Specialist in Brownwood is Skye Arrington. Arrington is trained to provide essential services to families, service members and the unit chain of command. Some of these services include: Crisis Intervention and Referral, Legal Resource and Referral, Financial Resource and Referral, TRICARE Resource and Referral, identification cards and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System and Community Information and Outreach.

Behavioral health services are also available in Brownwood through Brandie McCray, Behavioral Health Coordinator who can provide counseling to service members and their families who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, anger, grief, relationship problems or any other issues that are presented.
