We are excited to present the Texas Army National Guard with Credentialing Assistance (CA) opportunities across the state of Texas. Using the Army's CA program, we have connected with the University of Texas at Austin-Extended Campus to offer specific credentials that are beneficial to the Army and civilian workforce. Below are the upcoming dates and registration links. 

Be advised that these classes have hard deadlines and cannot be added after specific dates given. This is policy not preference. All applicants must: 

  • Have an active ArmyIgnited Account 
    • Be in good standing on ArmyIgnited- not flagged 
  • Have remaining FY funds or be prepared to pay out of pocket
  • Have at least 31 days remaining from their ETS by the training end date.
  • Be prepared to commit to the training

                                  Credentialing Assistance Class Offerings

                                     Hybrid/Camp Mabry- 2200 W 35th St, Austin, TX 78703
  • Project Management Certificate 
    • This program is intended to enhance your project management skills through a globally recognized process and a proven framework for leading and directing projects and teams. You will learn the most up-to-date methodology for delivering project results within constraints such as schedule, budget, and available resources.
  • Personal Trainer Certificate Program  (W.I.T.S)
    • This program is designed to help you start a successful career as a trainer. Taught over a seven-week period, the program covers key topics including bio-mechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage and health assessment. National exams are conducted during the final week of the program, and students who pass are eligible to begin a 30-hour internship and ultimately earn certification with the World Instructor Training Schools (W.I.T.S.).
  • Human Resource Management Certificate Program
    • The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest professional society dedicated to serving human resource professionals at all levels and functions. This program’s curriculum is designed by global subject matter experts and covers the entire SHRM Body of Applied Skills and Knowledge™ (SHRM BASK™), preparing you to take the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP®) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP®) certification exams through expert instruction and peer discussion.
  • ​​​​​​CompTIA Security+ 
    • The Cybersecurity Certification Program is an in-depth discussion and look into the concepts needed to be successful on the CompTIA Security+ (Sy0-601) . In this course, the learner will be introduced to a range of introductory cybersecurity topics. Learners will receive a baseline understanding of common cybersecurity threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities. Topics will also include: network security fundamentals, cryptography, security protocols and controls, operation and incident response, organizational policies, ethics, and career awareness. This course will provide students with hands-on exercises using CompTIA’s CertMaster, the EPIC Cyber Range, and cybersecurity labs designed by Cyber.org. Emphasis is on understanding the foundational cybersecurity concepts rather than just memorizing facts.

  1. A letter of intent (include your current job, education background, educational and career goals and explain how this credential would help you, TMD and TMD Service Members
  2. A letter of recommendation from your supervisor
