Central Texas NAtional Guard Soldiers to Deploy to Kuwait

CAMP MABRY, Texas (Aug. 30, 2013) - On Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., the 36th Infantry Division, Texas Army National Guard is scheduled to bid goodbye and good luck to the 149th Financial Management Support Detachment as they mobilize to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The deployment ceremony os slated to be held at the Armed Forces Reserve Center, 1202 Clovis Barker Rd., San Marcos, Texas 78666.
 
The detachment's mission will be to provide financial support at several locations in Kuwait. At present time, the U.S. military has significant presence in Kuwait allowing flexibility to respond to sudden conflicts in the region.
 
Military bases in Kuwait also serve as a transportation hu for military members traveling to Afghanistan and other areas in the region. The goal for the finance detachment is to provide assistance and quality service to the U.S. military members stationed in Kuwait.
 
The detachment is made up of approximately 25 soldiers, with the majority of the Soldiers Calling Central texas their home.
