Meida wishing to cover the Open House are invoted to do so on Saturday, April 26, 2014 and must coordinate with the Public Affairs Office for parking and a media escort. Representatives from the Texas Military Forces, City of Austin, and the American Heroes Air Show are scheduled to be available for interviews.

Texas Military Forces' Open House and Air Show This Weekend
CAMP MABRY, Texas (April 22, 2014) – The Texas Military Forces (TXMF) will be opening the doors of Camp Mabry, in Austin, Texas, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, 2014, for its annual Open House featuring the American Heroes Air Show.
The free two-day event will feature an Air Show, opening ceremony, the Traveling Vietnam Wall, Naturalization ceremony for members of all military branches, World War II reenactments, K-9 search and rescue demonstrations, as well as many other events. New to the lineup, this year, the Missing in America Project will hold a special memorial service for 12 unclaimed Central Texas Veterans. Additionally, the crucial role of helicopters in Law Enforcement, Public Safety, Urban Search and Rescue, and National Guard Support to Civil Authorities in Domestic Operations will be illustrated.
“This is our opportunity to thank you for supporting the Texas Military Forces as we have deployed thousands of your hometown Guardsmen to places like Iraq and Afghanistan-as well as to fires and floods right here in Central Texas,” said Texas Adjutant General Maj. Gen. John F. Nichols. “It's an honor to serve Texas citizens both home and abroad.”
