Texas Military Department to Authorize Media Embeds 
  AUSTIN, Texas (August 31, 2017) – Beginning at 4:30 PM CST the Texas Military Department will allow media to accompany military assets as they participate in rescues and evacuation efforts related to Hurricane Harvey relief operations.

A press conference will be held at 4:30 PM with Col. Scott Mac Leod, Task Force Commander of Hurricane Harvey relief to explain operational rules for all media. Processing will begin to assign a military asset for embed and issue a time frame for missions.

No reservations will be provided ahead of time, you must be at the Ford Center to receive your embed time frame.

Embed availability will be based on mission need, however we will attempt to honor all requests. In the event that requests surpass availability, requesters may be grouped by network or channel.

This access may be revoked at any time for concerns of safety or mission readiness.

Advisory: In boarding a military vehicle or embedding with The Texas Military Department you agree to hold harmless the Texas Military Department or any agency or military forces assisting in the recovery from Hurricane Harvey in the event of injury or death. You must complete the attached Hold Harmless Agreement prior to embedding. Failure to fill the required form does not place liability on the Texas Military Department.
