Why Employer Support Matters

Employer support directly strengthens the Texas State Guard’s ability to serve communities across Texas. By supporting your employee’s service, you help enable faster disaster response, stronger community resilience, immediate assistance during emergencies, and a trained, ready force prepared to support the State when needed.

Texas State Guard members are protected in their civilian jobs when called to state active duty for emergencies or training. Texas Government Code §§ 437.202–437.204 require that Service Members be granted a leave of absence for military service and restored to civilian employment with the same seniority, status, and benefits upon timely return from duty.
