Jacqueline Carmona-Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and obtained a Master’s degree in Community Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She has provided counseling since 2014 in diverse settings and populations to include: Juvenile detention, behavioral health hospitals, private practice, and trauma-focused non-profit agencies for adults and children. She is trained in various modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, Gottman Method Couples therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). as well as having received training in perinatal mental health issues.
Jacqueline also comes from a military family where she has long admired the values, comradery, resiliency, and sense of community that is present in the military culture. She looks forward to utilizing her professional experience and drawing upon the strengths of each service member in order to help support their mental health needs.
Jacqueline’s self-care and hobbies include: finding new trails to hike with her two hyperactive (yet subjectively adorable) dogs, practicing mindfulness through yoga, surrounding herself with music, competitive game nights with family and friends, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
