Col Daniel Janusz

 

 

Colonel Daniel J. Janusz is the Director of Staff for the Texas Air National Guard at Camp Mabry in Austin, TX. In this position he manages and directs the administration, coordination, planning, development, and execution of Air Staff Programs supporting over 3,300 Airmen in preparation for State and Federal mobilizations. He is the focal point for all command policies, talent management and human resource programs. He is also responsible for strategic planning and programming as well as facilitating engagements with State and Federal elected officials.

Colonel Janusz was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and enlisted with the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 1991 where he was assigned to the 128th Aircraft Generation Squadron as a KC-135R Crew Chief. In 1999, Colonel Janusz received his commission as a Second Lieutenant through the Air National Guard’s Academy of Military Science. Originally commissioned as an undergraduate pilot trainee, he was reassigned as the Operations Officer with the 128th Security Forces Squadron in 2000 and later assumed command of the Squadron in 2003. Colonel Janusz returned to the Academy of Military Science in 2005 where he accepted an assignment as a Faculty Advisor and Military Equal Opportunity Officer at the Training and Education Center at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base. In 2008, Colonel Janusz accepted his next assignment with the Connecticut Air National Guard as the Deputy Commander of the 14th Civil Support Team and later assumed command of the Team in 2010. He was then assigned to Joint Force Headquarters-Connecticut as the Joint Doctrine, Training and Force Development Officer (J7) in 2014 and, later that same year, was assigned as the Wing Executive Officer/Wing Antiterrorism Officer with the 103rd Airlift Wing. In 2015, Colonel Janusz assumed command of the 103rd Security Forces Squadron. In 2018, Colonel Janusz was selected for a State Development Tour and was assigned as the Deputy Director, Commander’s Action Group at the Air National Guard Readiness Center. His operational tours include OPERATION NOBLE EAGLE, OPERATION ALLIED FORCE, OPERATION DELIBERATE GUARD, OPERATION DECISIVE ENDEAVOR and a deployment in support of the 82nd Detainee Movement Operation, Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Janusz was assigned as the 147th Mission Support Group Commander at the 147th Attack Wing, Ellington Joint Reserve Base, in Houston, Texas.
