AUSTIN, Texas (Oct. 3, 2019) - In a ceremony at Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas, on Aug. 24, 2019, Giovanni Capriglione took the oath of service and was sworn in as a 1st Lt. in the Texas State Guard by Maj. Gen. Robert Bodisch, Sr., commanding general of the Texas State Guard. Capriglione is a Keller, Texas-based businessman who owns an investment firm that specializes in investing in small businesses, many based in Texas. Capriglione also serves as a state representative serving House District 98 in the Texas House of Representatives.

1st Lt. Capriglione will be assigned to the headquarters T-9 that coordinates statewide strategic initiatives for the Texas State Guard. Specifically, he will work on cybersecurity matters and serve as a liaison to the Texas State Guard headquarters.

Capriglione’s career has been focused on computer engineering and semiconductor design and Internet products. Additionally, Capriglione’s work in the Texas legislature has centered on matters of privacy and cybersecurity, allowing him to bring a wide breadth of knowledge to the needs of the State Guard.

“I am honored to join the outstanding men and women of the Texas State Guard to serve our fellow Texans. Combining my passion for service with my interest in cybersecurity issues will be a natural fit and an effort I look forward to undertaking,” Capriglione said.
