Bastrop’s Camp Swift to Perform Demolition Training, this weekend
AUSTIN, Texas (April 27, 2017) The Texas Army National Guard’s Training Facility, Camp Swift, in Bastrop, near Austin, Texas will be conducting demolition training at its demolition range, Saturday, April 29, 2017.
This training is scheduled to occur from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will include the discharging of 40-pound charges.
During this time residents may hear loud noises that resemble the sound of thunder and/or explosions, as well as see and smell smoke in the air. With the on-going threat of wildfires prevalent in Central Texas, all safety precautions are being taken and emergency personnel has been notified and is on standby.
