Barbara SpruillBarbara Spruill completed her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College and also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.Barbara is a retired Army Master Sergeant and served 22 years on active duty. She is licensed as a Professional Counselor and as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. Barbara has worked across a variety of treatment settings to include: a correctional facility, providing mental health assessment and diagnosis; outpatient substance abuse and community based services; and currently provides counseling services to military, veterans, and their families.

 

Barbara considers her approach eclectic and uses Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, and Reality Based therapies. As a military veteran she is able to relate to the struggles and concerns associated with military life, deployments and the military family. Barbara employs a holistic approach in order to educate clients on how mind, body and spirit are interconnected. She believes it is necessary to instill hope in order to help individuals challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes.
