Austin Based National Guard Soldiers Deploy to Kuwait

CAMP MABRY, Texas (Feb. 7, 2013) - The 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard, along with family and friends, will say goodbye and good luck to the more than 100 members of the 36th Combat Aviation Brigade on Saturday, Feb 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., as they mobilize for an upcoming deployment to Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The deployment ceremony will be held at the Austin Army Aviation Support Facility in Asutin, Texas near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
 
Once mobilized the group's mission will be to provide AH-64 Apache and UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter support to several locations in Kuwait and most recently spent several months training at Fort Hood.
 
The unit is made up of approximately 120 soldiers, with the majority of the Soldiers calling Central Texas their home.
