There are several routes to 19th Special Forces Group in the Texas Army National Guard. Your route will depend on your service background, military qualifications, and contract eligibility.

In-service candidates (not 18X) attending SFAS through the Texas Army National Guard will attend either the Special Forces Training Program (SFTP) or a Special Forces Readiness Evaluation (SFRE) to qualify.

Civilians who meet eligibility requirements can enlist for an 18X Special Forces Candidate contract. These candidates will attend Infantry, Special Forces Prepartion and Conditioning, and then SFAS. If selected, they will attend Airborne and the SFQC.
