Maj. Gen. Tracy R. Norris, the Adjutant General of Texas, presided over a ceremony at Camp Mabry, in Austin, Texas,
to rename the Texas Military Department Joint Operations Center in memory of Sgt. Maj. (Ret.) Elwood H. Imken.
Imken provided leadership and guidance for the organization during more than 30 years as both a service member
and civilian employee. Imken's family attended the event where all attendees wore Hawaiian shirts in tribute to the
departed sergeant major whose trademark as a civilian employee became the brightly colored garments.
